Permanent Granular Carbon Filter should be placed in direct sunshine for at least one hour once a month to refresh. Press and hold the button to reset after filters are cleaned. (although there is not a reminder light, under normal conditions of continuous use, permanent pre-filter should be cleaned every 3 months (approximately 2160 hours), or more often depending on air quality and environmental factors.
